Abstract

Abstract: This paper discusses in theoretical and practical terms how the Desistance Paradigm offers a powerful and underexplored potential alliance with Therapeutic Jurisprudence, especially regarding the social reintegration of those who break the law. As such, this paper presents a description of the Therapeutic Justice and Desistance Paradigm, along with their main findings and theoretical scope, to then present a discussion of how these two approaches share a common horizon (which are not only limited to practices and techniques, but also to legal structures and procedures) . Finally, it concludes with some future challenges for which the convergence of these two paradigms can offer fruitful developments within the criminal justice system.
