Abstract

Abstract: The Natural fiber composites (NFCs) are proved to be an alternative to replace synthetic materials, as the world requires more environmental friendly materials. In addition, they have a high specific strength, require low production energy, low cost, and have better mechanical properties. However, there are some challenges in working with NFCs such as high moisture absorption, low fire resistance and poor interfacial bonding between natural fibres and matrix. This paper comprehensively discusses the applications, tensile properties and different processing techniques of NFCs. Additionally, the present paper provides the platform for enhancing the NFCs related knowledge.
