- Abstract: Under mild conditions, an N ‐phthalimidoyl sulfoximine undergoes aminolysis to provide a wide range of 2‐formyl benzamides in good to high yields. An unprecedented variant of McFadyen‐Stevens reaction explains the product formation. The applicability of the products as building blocks for nitriles and alkynes has been demonstrated. Abstract :
