- Abstract : Bone Marrow‐Derived Macrophages SARS‐CoV‐2 In article 2200007, Zhao, Zhang, Liu, and co‐workers teamed up to investigate SARS‐CoV‐2 infection in bone marrow‐derived macrophages (BMMs). They find that SARS‐CoV‐2 infects BMMs in a neuropilin‐1 (NRP1)‐dependent manner (insert: red, SARS‐CoV‐2 and its spike protein; green, BMM and its NRP1 protein). Interestingly, SARS‐CoV‐2 infection could inhibit the differentiation of BMMs into osteoclasts (bottom, blue).
