Abstract

Climate change impacts, pollution, water scarcity, diseases, inequality, and social instability are big challenges to humans and governments in Asia and the world. Higher education offers the potential to deal with these challenges by providing interdisciplinary training programs. This study aims to examine how a higher education institute (HEI) applies knowledge management (KM) to create and develop an interdisciplinary training program for the urgent needs of society. The study applied the qualitative method and used in-depth interviews to collect the opinions and thoughts of the respondents. The study identified five major themes that could be addressed in creating and developing an interdisciplinary postgraduate training program in HEIs. The study also highlights the directions for future research.
