Abstract

Highlights: Aromatization of testosterone leads to formation of 17-beta-oestradiol that is believed to have proconvulsive activity. Epileptic seizures are a rare but possible side effect of AAS abuse. A detailed endocrine panel should be performed in patients with abuse of AAS and a first seizure or unexplained exacerbation of their epilepsy. Abstract: None
