- Abstract: An uncertainty quantification method that integrates experimental data, rockbolt properties, and a mechanical model of rockbolts using the Markov chain Monte Carlo method was developed to consider the uncertainties in rockbolt performance by combining the Bayesian method and data from two rockbolt pull-out tests. The predicted axial force, axial strain, and shear stress along the rockbolt/grout interface agreed closely with the tests. The results showed that the developed method quantifies the uncertainty and significantly improves the understanding of the mechanical mechanism of rockbolts.
