Abstract

Highlights: Most mass shootings occur between 6pm and 6am and happen in the streets, bars, or homes. Victims of mass shootings are most commonly Black adult males, but women and children who are shot are more likely to be killed. Perpetrators of mass shootings are most commonly Black, and overwhelmingly adult males. Mass shooting demographics appear to represent more general gun violence demographics.
