- Abstract : Comb-like polycarboxylate is a superplasticiser possessing a high water reducing rate and excellent molecular design, and has been widely used in the concrete industry. Most research studies have adjusted the effect of the superplasticiser by improving the groups on the superplasticiser molecular chain, but few studies have been carried out that change the structure of the comb molecular chain. AB2 monomer was prepared by the Michael addition reaction of diethanolamine and methyl acrylate, and hyperbranched polymer was prepared with trihydroxypropane as the core. In this paper, an advanced hyperbranched polycarboxylate, which was modified by a hyperbranched polyamine-ester, was designed as a superplasticiser. The hyperbranched polycarboxylic acid superplasticiser has the advantage of improving the rheological properties of cement slurry and the strength of mortar test blocks, compared with the traditional polycarboxylate superplasticiser; this is attributed to the hyperbranched polymers that provide hydroxyl groups and enhance the molecular spatial structure.
