- Abstract: Piezoelectric nanogenerator (PENG) has potential in fabricating durable self-powered supply for portable devices, and the flexible polymer-based nanocomposites PENG are promising in wearable electronic products. However, larger mechanical-to-electric conversion capability is desired for practical application. In the present work, P(VDF-TrFE)-based nanocomposites contained with lead zirconate titanate nanowires (PZTNWs) and multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were prepared via electrospinning to form flexible fibrous membranes. Four composite configurations are designed to seek for higher piezoelectric output and to investigate the effect of the topological distribution of the nanofillers in nanocomposite. The sandwich structure membrane with PZTNWs in inter layer and MWCNTs in outer layers significantly increases the mechanical-to-electric output, which achieves the peak values of 61.48 V and 8.45 μA. The optimized nanocomposite fibrous membrane also shows good durability and performs well in packed flexible device as instantaneous generator in practice tests. The sandwich structure is able to make full use of the nanofillers in nanocomposite, which is much promising in wearable application as PENG power supply. Graphical abstract: Image 1
