Abstract

Abstract : The cover image relates to the Research Article https://doi.org/10.1111/ddi.13149, in which Pendleton et al. examine the importance of model‐derived prey fields, versus oceanographic proxies for prey, in species distribution models for a migratory marine mammal, the western Arctic bowhead whale (Balaena mysticetus) . The cover image shows (Balaena mysticetus) in the western Beaufort Sea during an aerial survey in 2011. Photo taken by Amelia Brower under National Marine Fisheries Permit Number 14245. This was a joint project led by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Marine Fisheries Service, Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Marine Mammal Laboratory and the North Slope Borough.
