Drawing the feminist perspective on caregiving, this study highlights the associations with the longitudinal patterns of providing care of grandchildren and the status of economic preparation for later liter life, by using data the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth waves of Korean Retirement and Income Study(KReIS) and logistic regression to analyze the data. The following results were found. First, there is no significant relationship between providing care for grandchildren and the economic preparation for later life among the middle and old aged adults in the third wave, controlling for age, education, marital status, employment status and household income. In addition, this significant finding was found among only men, not women.
