Abstract

Abstract : Based on the chiral helicene‐derived dipyridyl ligands, two pairs of chiral rhomboid metallacycles were constructed conveniently by the coordination‐driven self‐assembly. It was found that the chiral metallacycles showed a supramolecular depiction of the illusory Penrose stairs. Moreover, the enantiomers of the metallacycles not only showed clear mirror imaged circular dichroism (CD) spectra and mirror imaged circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) properties, but also exhibited enhanced chiroptical responses probably due to the PS‐like structures. Narcissistic self‐sorting was further observed in the one‐pot synthesis of these chiral rhomboid metallacycles. Abstract : Two pairs of helicene‐based chiral rhomboid metallacycles with PS‐like structure were easily constructed by coordination‐driven self‐assembly. Clear mirror imaged and enhanced CD and CPL signals were observed in the enantiomeric metallacycles. Moreover, narcissistic self‐sorting was also observed in the one‐pot synthesis of the chiral metallacycles.
