- Abstract: Over the years, polymer-metal nanocomposites have been extensively investigated due to their potential ability to produce materials with novel mechanical, electronic, optical and magnetic properties for technological applications. In the current paper, we present the studies on cobalt (Co) nanoparticles embedded polyethylene terephthalate (PET) by ion beam sputtering technique. Co nanoparticle layer (10 nm thick) was deposited onto PET substrate by ion beam sputtering. Grazing incidence x-ray diffraction results reveal that the Co is present in the metallic form in the FCC phase. MOKE studies reveal the anisotropic behavior of PET/Co nanocomposite film. The results are discussed in the paper.
