- Abstract : Implementations and improvements of genome editing techniques used in plant science have increased exponentially. For some crops, such as potato, the use of transcription activator-like effector nucleases (TALEN) and clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) has moved to the next step of trait development and field trials, and should soon be applied to commercial cultivation.
