- Abstract: The incorporation of additional metal to form homo/heterojunction nanomaterials may enhance electrical conductivity and electrocatalytic performance. In this work, a novel Ni−Fe‐Se compound made through a facile solvothermal method with the presence of D‐(+)‐glucose (labeled as Ni0.5 Fe0.5 Se2 /C) exhibited outstanding catalytic activity toward water oxidation. During oxygen evolution reaction (OER) process in alkaline condition, Ni0.5 Fe0.5 Se2 /C catalyst shows an overpotential of 254 mV at 10 mA cm −2, 77 mV lower than that of the commercial RuO2, and an excellent stability. Abstract : Easy now : In this paper, the novel composite of Ni0.5 Fe0.5 Se2 /C have been successfully fabricated through a one‐step solvothermal approach with the help of glucose. As catalyst in OER, the electrochemical property of Ni0.5 Fe0.5 Se2 /C achieved higher electrical conductivity and great electrocatalytic activity, compared with the responding monometallic compounds. Notably, the overpotential of Ni0.5 Fe0.5 Se2 /C catalyst requires merely 254 mV to reach a current density of 10 mA cm −1, and displays an excellent durability.
