Abstract

ABSTRACT: Although green supplier integration is vital, our understanding of how to govern the conflict in this supplier-manufacturer relationship is still limited. This study explores the impacts of three types of organisational conflict (relationship conflict, task conflict and process conflict) on green supplier integration and the moderating roles of two types of governance mechanisms (i.e. contract control and relational norms). Using survey data collected from 206 Chinese manufacturers, we examine the hypotheses. Our findings indicate that relationship conflict, task conflict and process conflict all have negative impacts on green supplier integration. Furthermore, contract control weakens the negative impact of process conflict on green supplier integration, while relational norms alleviate the negative impacts of relationship conflict and process conflict on green supplier integration. This research provides novel insights for better understanding the organisational conflict governance mechanism in green supplier integration in China.
