- Abstract: This investigation essentially determines the nanofluids' heat transfer performance and flow characteristics over a vertical cylinder. The influences of thermal radiation, velocity slip, and thermal slip conditions further exert effects. The mathematical model for the transport of heat and momentum is characterized by a PDE set, which is then interpreted by embracing a fourth‐order exactness program (Bvp4c). Graphical decisions reveal various parameters' values on the velocity profile, temperature profile, entropy generation, and Bejan number. A comparison of two nanofluids obtained by adding metal nanoparticles ( Cu ) and metal oxide nanoparticles ( Al 2 O 3 ) into the base fluid ( H 2 O ) is illustrated. Heat transmission improves when the curvature parameter, mixed convection parameter, and Eckert number are raised, but it is reduced when the thermal slip parameter increases. Entropy generation is also enriched with magnetic parameter and Brinkman number, whereas it is overcome with velocity and thermal slip parameters. Furthermore, Cu nanoparticles give a significant enhancement in the rate of heat transfer compared to Al 2 O 3 nanoparticles, and entropy generation due to heat transfer is dominant for alumina nanoparticles as compared to copper nanoparticles.
