- Highlights: Replacing sand with fly ash or GGBS can produce high-performance concrete. Concrete with 10% fly ash (as sand or cement) exhibited the lowest drying shrinkage. Concrete with 30% GGBS replacing cement or sand exhibited 20% lower drying shrinkage. Introducing fly ash effect parameter can improve the accuracy of creep prediction model. Abstract: In this study, we investigated the compressive strength, drying shrinkage, creep, and CO2 emissions per unit volume of concrete containing fly ash or ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) as part of cement or fine aggregate. We introduced a parameter KL to capture the effect of fly ash content in the creep prediction model. The results showed that mixing fly ash as part of the fine aggregate in concrete can effectively increase the strength of concrete and reduce shrinkage and creep. Therefore, introducing a parameter to capture the effect of fly ash content in the prediction model can accurately predict the creep strain of concrete.
