- Abstract: The development of nanoparticles magnetite in the world of research is now very rapid, The purpose of this research was to made Fe3 O4 nanoparticles as microwave absorbent material. The Fe3 O4 used in this study is magnetic oxide derived from nature in the form of iron sand. Tiram Beach one of the beaches in West Sumatera that contains iron sand exactly at Padang Pariaman District, Sumatera Barat. Nanoparticles Fe3 O4 were made using the Higt Energy Milling Ellips-3 Dimenssion (HEM-E3D) method, with variations in milling time for 5, 15, 20, 25 and 30 hours. Fe3 O4 nanoparticles are characterized using Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) to see the absorption properties of the microwaves. Analysis VNA result showed that the maximum value of reflection loss obtained in the samples milling 15 hours of -14.775 dB at a frequency of 11.700 GHz.
