- Abstract: This paper focuses on the development of a dynamic stiffness matrix method for analyzing the dynamic behavior of geometrically and materially linear two-layer partial-interaction composite beams based on the Timoshenko beam theory. The proposed model considers the effect of shear slip between concrete slab and steel beam as well as the shear deformations and rotary inertia. The main improvement offered by the proposed model compared to the existing methods is that each sub-beam is assumed to have an independent rotary angle, which is more realistic. The proposed model is compared to experimental and finite element results and other theoretical models, and the effects of shear deformations and rotary inertia on eigenfrequencies are discussed in detail.
