- Highlights: A multi-product, multi-period, multi-echelon sustainable closed-loop supply chain with the new product development. Dual-channel in supply design for the new product development is considered. Economic, environmental and social features of the design are considered. Price and the demand are uncertain and fuzzy logic used. A case study in the lighting industry is presented. Abstract: Designing a sustainable supply chain network is of importance in terms of economic, environmental and social aspects of different sectors of society. This can also be followed in the lighting industry while developing a new product. This study mainly aims to solve a multi-objective dual-channel closed-loop supply chain, considering the uncertain nature of price and demand. To do this, two novel hybrid meta-heuristic algorithms are developed with some changes in their mechanism. The proposed model is then conducted in the lighting industry, and the numerical results are presented. They prove that the proposed model is applicable for considering the concept of new product development (NPD) in a sustainable supply chain network design (SCND). Moreover, the performance of the proposed hybrid approach is more efficient than single algorithms. Finally, a comprehensive discussion is presented to reveal the managerial insights into the results.
