Abstract

Abstract : (Abstracted from Female Pelvic Med Reconstr Surg 2021;27(2):112–117) Recurrent urinary tract infection (rUTI) is defined as at least 2 UTIs in a 6-month span or 3 UTIs in a 1-year span. Postmenopausal status is a well-described risk factor for rUTI, with declining levels of systemic estrogen hypothesized as a contributory biological mechanism.
