- Abstract: The purpose of this research was to examine how alccofine and nano-silica as a partial replacement of cement affected concrete's resistance to freeze and thaw cycles. Concrete mixes of M40, M50, and M60 grade with and without alccofine and nano-silica were prepared in this study. For the mix, 15% alccofine and 3% nano-silica by weight of cement have been used. The ASTM C 666/C 666M – 03 standard code was adopted to conduct the freezing-thawing test on the specimens. Concrete specimens were tested for compressive strength, weight loss, density, and ultrasonic pulse velocity, and dynamic modulus elasticity, relative dynamic modulus elasticity, and durability factor were calculated. The results revealed that alccofine and nano-silica concrete performed better than control mixes in terms of strength and durability when exposed to freeze–thaw cycles.
