Abstract

Highlights: The correct proportions, selection and properties of reinforcement are playing an essential role on metal composite. The substance properties may be changed with varying the different factors such as weight percentage, size of the particles and grit size. The present investigation describes the evaluation of hardness through parametric changes of reinforcements. The evaluation of hardness Of Aluminium 7068 reinforced with Tantalum carbide studied through Taguchi method. The parametric changes and their effect has been studied through Taguchi method. Abstract: The quality of the composite is mainly depends on the nature of reinforcements. The correct proportions, selection and properties of reinforcement are playing an essential role on metal composite. The substance properties may be changed with varying the different factors such as weight percentage, size of the particles and grit size. The present investigation describes the evaluation of hardness through parametric changes of reinforcements. Aluminium 7068 is chosen as the testing material for these investigations. Tantalum carbide is the reinforcement material for Al 7068. The parametric changes and their effect has been studied through Taguchi method. The novelty of the work is to increase the hardness (398–512 BHN) of the material due to the addition of reinforcement for advanced applications such as aerospace and modern manufacturing industries.
