- Abstract : The catalytic activity of cobalt with the soft nucleophilicity of organoaluminum compounds disclosed a robust and scalable process for the formation of new Csp 2 -Csp 2 and Csp 3 -Csp 2 bonds with high functional group compatibility and in mild conditions. Abstract : A simple cobalt complex, such as Co(phen )Cl2, turned out to be a highly efficient and cheap precatalyst for a host of cross-coupling reactions involving aromatic and aliphatic organoaluminum reagents with aryl, heteroaryl and alkyl bromides. New C(sp 2 )–C(sp 2 ) and C(sp 2 )–C(sp 3 ) bonds were formed in good to excellent yields and with high chemoselectivity, under mild reaction conditions.
