Abstract

Abstract : (Abstracted from Am J Obstet Gynecol 2021;224:498.e1–498.e10) Involuntary urine loss associated with a sudden sense of urgency, known as urgency urinary incontinence (UUI), affects millions of women and significantly impairs quality of life. Altered perceptual awareness has been theorized to play a role in UUI, with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) identifying specific brain sites that may function abnormally in these patients.
