- Abstract : A case is reported in which the serum alkaline phosphatase reached high levels, and in which the differential diagnosis between hepatic secondary deposits and osteomalacia proved difficult by the usual means. Separation of the alkaline phosphatases by starch grain electrophoresis was used as an aid to differential diagnosis.
