Abstract

Highlights: Mycoplasma hyorhinis is a mycoplasma mainly carried by animals, that has not been associated with human invasive infections. We describe the first human case of a mycotic infrarenal aortic aneurysm caused by M. hyorhinis . This specific microorganism might have been overlooked in the past, especially in culture-negative endovascular infections. The diagnoses was made based on direct 16S rDNA sequencing.
