- Abstract: The 2D-Cf/Al composites with the fiber bundles spacing of 1 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm and 5 mm were prepared by vacuum ultrasonic vibration method aiming at finding the reasonable spacing of adjacent fiber bundles and improving the tensile strength. Effects of the spacing of the fiber bundles on the microstructure and the tensile strength of 2D-Cf/Al composites were elaborately studied. When the fiber bundles spacing was 3 mm, the tensile strength of the composite reached the peak value of 225.4 MPa, which was higher than that of the matrix alloy. The fiber distribution was more uniform, and the infiltration effect was improved. The composite had the most number of the load-bearing fibers, which had a positive effect on the tensile strength of the composite.
