Abstract: A new approach to the direct construction of the 1, 2, 4‐triazine core starting from eight azo‐conjugated aromatic compounds via transition or lanthanide metal‐catalyzed cross‐dehydrogenative coupling reactions under hydrothermal conditions is reported.
