Abstract:: Abstract: The title sulfonic acid (SBSA) efficiently catalyzes the three‐component reaction of 4‐hydroxypyranone (I), aromatic aldehydes, and malonitrile furnishing pyranopyran derivatives (IV) (14 examples) in good yield, in general.
