- Abstract : Zomepirac sodium (Zomax - Ortho) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic (NSAID), chemically related to tolmetin (Tolectin - Ortho). 1 Like other NSAIDs it inhibits prostaglandin synthetase; 2 but unlike them it is promoted primarily as an analgesic for general use. Is it as much of an innovation as the manufacturer suggests?
