Abstract

Abstract : Two ultrafast supramolecular rotors with activation barriers to rotation below 1 kcal mol −1, have been obtained by cocrystallization. The dynamic characterization was carried out by using variable‐temperature X‐ray studies, 1 H spin–lattice experiments, and DFT computations by using periodic boundaries. Interestingly, these crystalline rotors undergo displacive phase transitions at low temperature, with distinctive responses in their motion associated with clear differences in their molecular conformation.
