Abstract

41st Meeting of the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes (BSPED), Brighton, UK, 13–15 November 2013: SUMMARY: : The 41st Meeting of the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED) was held in November 2013 at the spectacular Brighton Dome (UK) and was attended by endocrinologists, researchers, specialist nurses and other health professionals from the UK and further afield. Delegates had the opportunity to hear results of cutting-edge basic science and clinical research, as well as attend plenary lectures from international experts, take part in topical clinical debates and hear first-hand patient experiences [1 ]. To celebrate World Diabetes Day, a Diabetes Professionals Meeting was held in parallel with the Main Meeting. Here, we discuss some of the key presentations and their implications for clinical practice.
