- Abstract : Tricopper‐oxo clusters [Cu3 (μ‐O)3 ] 2+ hosted in mordenite can selectively oxidize methane to methanol but yields are limited. At standard pressure, one cluster reacts with one CH4 molecule. Elevated methane pressure increased the chemical potential of methane by enabling the activation of two CH4 molecules by two μ‐O atoms out of the three contained in a [Cu3 (μ‐O)3 ] 2+, thus doubling the yield of methanol.
