- Abstract: Chiral poly(ferrocenyl-Schiff Bases) iron(II) complexes (CPSC)/Reduced graphene oxide (RGO) composites with excellent microwave absorption properties have been successfully prepared. The structures of poly(ferrocenyl-Schiff Bases) and their iron(II) complexes were characterized with IR, MS, HNMR, GPC, elemental analysis, etc. The morphology of CPSC and their composite materials were studied through SEM and TEM analysis. The conductivity, optical activity, electromagnetic parameter and microwave absorption properties of composite materials were also studied in details. The results show that chiral composites own much better microwave absorption properties and wider bandwidth compared to corresponding achiral composites. The maximum RL of chiral CPSC/RGO composite (CM-PL1B) reaches at −52.6 dB at 10.0 GHz with a thickness of 2.5 mm, and the bandwidth of RL less than −10 dB can reach up to 4.6 GHz (from 11.2 to 15.8 GHz), the remarkably enhanced microwave absorption properties are also discussed at length. Graphical abstract: CPSC/RGO composites with excellent microwave absorption properties have been successfully prepared, characterized and tested. The results show that chiral composites own much better microwave absorption properties and wider bandwidth compared to corresponding achiral composites. Image 1 Highlights: Chiral poly(ferrocenyl-Schiff Bases)iron(II) complexes/RGO was prepared. The microwave absorption properties of composite materials were studied.Abstract: Chiral poly(ferrocenyl-Schiff Bases) iron(II) complexes (CPSC)/Reduced graphene oxide (RGO) composites with excellent microwave absorption properties have been successfully prepared. Chiral composites own better microwave absorption properties and wider bandwidth. Due to the synergic effects the composites own much better microwave absorption. … (more)
