Abstract

Abstract : Many of the accommodations made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic have largely been born by women. Essential healthcare workers are no exception. We are asking women in the medical field to fight a pandemic, while also taking on more of the burden of household and child education duties than their male counterparts. It is likely that this will influence women's careers and could have major effects on our healthcare system. Now is the critical time to demonstrate that we believe women are essential to the field of medicine and our response to the pandemic should consider these realities.
