Abstract

Graphical abstract: Abstract: A new approach to form CN bond without metal catalysis was developed. 4-acetylbenzoyl isocyanate reacted with various amines through a mild method to form CN bond. This reaction was amenable to scale-up and it afforded the corresponding products with good to excellent yields and tolerates a wide range of functional groups.
