Abstract : Consumers' Association has recently published this book about the minor ailments that most people treat without the help of a doctor. It tries to balance the temptation to seek medical advice for every minor complaint against the temptation to dismiss early symptoms of a serious illness as trivial. Doctors may wish to draw the attention of patients to this book: it may help to save their time.
