- Highlights: SARS-CoV-2 is associated with increased venous thromboembolism (VTE) risk. VTE was more commonly seen with SARS-CoV-2 than seasonal influenza. Chronic anticoagulation may decrease VTE risk and disease severity with SARS-CoV-2.
