- Abstract: In this research work the basalt fiber have been considered as the prime reinforcement agent, the commonly available epoxy resin has been chosen as the matrix material based on the rule of mixture. In order to increase the physical strength of the basalt reinforced composites, as well, in the view of to fabricate the eco friendly fiber reinforced composite, the exact proportionate of egg shell and water hyacinth has been selected as the particulate matter upon the epoxy matrix. The chosen combinations are 0%, 3%, 6% of Egg shell and Water hyacinth powders separately, as well as the combinations of both the particulates have also been fabricated, to validate the hybrid as the superior than the individual particulate matter mixture. Moreover to validate the mechanical strength of the fabricated composites, the tests like tensile, flexural and impact have been conducted as per the ASTM standards. The results evidenced that the significant improvement upon loading of the particulates (egg shell/water hyacinth) in to the epoxy matrix in all tests, whereas the hybrid composites have shown the (combination of eggshell and water hyacinth) superior behavior as compared with the individual particulate loading into the matrix in all tests.
