- Abstract : New Hofmann-type metal–organic frameworks display rare and complete ligand exchange induced single crystal to single crystal transformations from 3D frameworks to 2D layers, accompanied by magnetic properties transition from two-step SCO behavior to hysteretic SCO behavior. Abstract : A ligand exchange induced single crystal to single crystal (SCSC) transformation from 3D Hofmann-type frameworks [Fe(ep)M(CN)4 ] (ep = ethylpyrazine; M = Pt, Pd) to 2D layer networks [Fe(mp)2 M(CN)4 ] (mp = methoxypyrazine) was observed. Interestingly, the different pillar–ligands showed a significant influence on the structural assembly and spin-crossover properties.
