Abstract

Abstract : A short cut review was carried out to see if tadalafil, a phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE5) inhibitor, was superior to standard α-adrenergic antagonists at promoting spontaneous ureteric calculi excretion. Two relevant papers were found, published by the same research group. The author, date and country of publication, patient group studied, study type, relevant outcomes, results study weaknesses of these papers are tabulated. Tadalafil was not shown to have significant superiority in terms of efficacy or adverse effects compared with standard treatment.
