- Abstract : Heparin induced thrombocytopenia and thrombosis is a potential complication of any procedure following previous heparin exposure. A case is described of acute in-stent occlusion during carotid stenting due to heparin induced thrombocytopenia and thrombosis. Management options are also discussed.
