Abstract

Monica Busse completed her PhD focused on the assessment of mobility in neurological disease in 1995 and is a senior lecturer in the School of Healthcare Studies, Cardiff University (Cardiff, UK). Her research mainly focuses on developing evidence and guidelines for targeted physical interventions in long-term neurological conditions, such as Huntington's disease. Her current projects include a physiotherapy, home-based, task-specific intervention (TRAIN-HD), and evaluation of the effectiveness of a home-based DVD (Move to Exercise). Emma Stack qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1989 and specialized in working with elderly people. She moved into research after completing an MSc at the Age Concern Institute of Gerontology, King's College London (London, UK). Emma's research has been based at the University of Southampton since the mid-1990s, specializing in falls among people with Parkinson's disease. Lori Quinn has been involved in clinical research using applied motor learning principles, as well as the clinical care of individuals with HD, since 1992 and is senior research fellow in the Cardiff Physiotherapy Group, School of Healthcare Studies, Cardiff University (Cardiff, UK). Current projects include a physiotherapy, home-based, task-specific intervention (TRAIN-HD), and evaluation of the effectiveness of a home-based DVD (Move to Exercise). She is co-lead facilitator of the European Huntington's Disease Network Physiotherapy Working Group alongside Monica Busse.
