- Abstract : In article number 2100384, Günter Motz and co‐workers report that the high sensitivity of Yb‐modified silazanes to air leads to the in‐situ generation of crystalline β‐Yb2 Si2 O7 and SiO2 during pyrolysis. The resulting thin coatings with excellent adhesion and damage tolerance effectively protect AISI 304 steel from corrosion in wet environments up to 1000 °C. These coatings are promising candidates to protect metal components in the combustion chamber of gas turbines.
