- Abstract: The research work reported here is focused on the synthesis and characterization of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs). For this, green synthesis method was employed by utilizing Aloevera extract as the starting material avoiding the use of any harmful chemical during the formation of NPs. The formation of crystalline Ag NPs was confirmed from by X-ray diffraction, which showed an average crystallite size of ~40 nm. The results were further supported by Scanning Electron Microscopy, Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy and Raman Spectroscopy. The antibacterial activity of the synthesized NPs was checked by disc diffusion method against Escherichia coli, Bacillus Subtitis and Pseudomonas . Overall observations are helpful in realizing antibacterial properties of the NPs, indicating their possible use in futuristic applications.
