Abstract

Key Points: Previous studies reported that larger plaque burden and smaller minimal luminal diameter at culprit lesions before treatment were predictors for restenosis. Layered plaques are characterized by the presence of harder collagen than soft lipid plaques and require more aggressive post‐dilatation. Large scale prospective studies with longer follow up are warranted to further characterize these features and their potential clinical implications.
