Abstract

Highlights: Convalescent plasma (CP) may be a suitable specific therapy for COVID-19. CP therapy is safe and effective in COVID-19 patients. Neutralising antibodies in CP help to control SARS-CoV-2 infection and modulate the inflammatory response. Plasma components may enhance the antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties of CP. CP therapy seems healthy, clinically successful and decreases mortality in COVID-19 patients.
